Virat Rested , Rohit to lead india in Asia cup
Rohit Sharma is all set for yet another stint as captain for India. He has been named the Skipper for the 16-member squad those who will be flying to UAE for Asia Cup which commences from 15 September. Virat Kohli has been rested for this tournament inciting his complaint about the busy Cricket without a break. He had left termors as he was seen uncomfortable in the 2nd test at Lords against England.
Who Has made the Cut?
Manish Pandey has struggled with form during the IPL but in the recently concluded quadrangular series, he led India-b to victory by smashing 316 runs in only 4 innings, averaging just under 80.
He has not been dismissed in the tournament at all.
His scores in the tournament were: 73*,95*, 21*&117*
Ambati Rayudu who has made it to the Squad against England series, but later dropped due to the obstacle in the form of YO-YO test, has been Recalled Courtesy of his fine form in the recently concluded quadrangular series. Rayudu who has been dropped from Indian squad due to Injury has been recalled back.
Kedar Jhadav who has injured himself during the opening game of IPL 2018, and henceforth missed all the cricketing action, has been invited back to the team. Although he failed miserably in the Quadrangular series, his experience has earned him the place.
Khallel Ahmed, the 20-year-old left-arm pacer from Rajasthan, who has earned his maiden India call-up for the team Courtesy his brilliant bowling in the Quadrangular series.
