Return of the Reverent

David Warner the name itself is a sensation,this name always tends to be in the news be it based on his performance or the controversies. On Saturday the 5-time world champion Australia started their hunt for the sixth championship in Bristol against Afghanistan. But there was another subject which was of immense importance to it.i.e. the return of Warner and Smith. Undoubtedly, Australia looked uncomfortable in the last 12 months without these duo barring the series wins against India and Pakistan in the subcontinent(which gave them the boost for world cup)they struggled. Hence the form of these two modern day greats was vital for the Aussies in the defending their Crown. And guess what the reverent from Sydney who amassed 692 runs in ipl continued his sublime form and staged a comeback with an unbeaten  89(114) which included 8 boundaries. most importantly he looked fluent in his approach.Although this wasn't his usual knock but this innings had definitely set the tone for the rest of the games to come. He was awarded Man of the match and Australia are upbeat with the character shown by Davey. Warner has surely shouted out loud and said "I'm Back".

  Great win and we hope to keep the ball rolling. I think there were some nerves getting to the training and then coming out today. Got relaxed once Finchy started to get going. The way I started out today, I had to take time to move my feet and get my head into position, considering that I had only played T20 cricket over the last one year. Us batters like to see that (some help for the bowlers). Need to keep our nerves and look to see through that period. It's a different contrast from the team back then (in 2015). There was more experience at that point but this squad also has great energy in it.
